From January 6 to 7, a solemn Christmas service took place at the Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Bishkek. The liturgy was led by Bishop Savvaty, who is responsible for Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan.

On this holy day, the church was full of people who came to share in the joy of the holiday and to glorify the Birth of Jesus Christ. Believers of all ages gathered around the Savior's manger, united in common prayer.

During the service, the Christmas message of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia was read, addressed to the parishioners of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as a message from Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, head of the Central Asian Metropolitan District.
Addressing the congregation, Bishop Savvaty emphasized that the Nativity of Christ is not just a day on the calendar, but an event that should permeate the entire life of a Christian. He urged the faithful to remember the deep spiritual significance of the holiday.
- The Nativity of Christ should be celebrated not only once a year but every day, by reviving Jesus Christ in our hearts, - noted the Bishop, addressing the parishioners. - Do not forget to bring Him a sacrifice of thanksgiving, prayers, and service.
The bishop reminded that the joy of Christmas is available to everyone on this earth, calling on believers to make the holidays filled with acts of love and mercy.
- We can rejoice with spiritual joy even now. During the Christmas days, it is important to glorify Christ: some do it through songs, others through good deeds, - he added.
In his sermon, the archpastor cited the examples of the shepherds and the Magi who came to worship the Infant Christ, urging not to spend the festive days in fuss and without spiritual content.
Particular attention was given by the Bishop to the importance of active love and helping one’s neighbor. He reminded about the social and charitable projects being implemented in the diocese, as well as the personal responsibility of each Christian to support those in need.
- The Lord served people in simple deeds. We have the opportunity to continue this service — through the House of Mercy and other forms of assistance, - concluded Bishop Savvaty.
At the end of his speech, the archpastor warmly congratulated all those present on the Nativity of Christ, wishing them spiritual joy, strength, and God's help on their life path.
