The Environmental and Technical Supervision Service of the Ministry of Natural Resources is starting an official investigation into the activities of the LLC in connection with the pollution of the strategic Osh—Nookat highway.
Local residents report that the road to the stone crushing enterprise has turned into a muddy rut, and the wheels of heavy machinery are transferring it onto the main road. Water mixes with the mud, causing it to flow onto the roadside and fill the irrigation channels designed for discharging water during mudflows.
The Osh Regional Office of the Ecological Supervision Service confirmed that an inspection is already underway at the site, and appropriate measures will be taken. According to the office, the crushing and sorting enterprise belongs to the LLC "Osh-Stroy Service." "There was a discharge of water, and the area has already dried up. After receiving permission from the Ministry of Economy, a warning will be issued or other measures will be taken. At the time of our inspection, the owners were not present; only employees were working," the office reported.
According to the provided data, "Osh-Stroy Service" is engaged in washing stone and producing crushed stone in this area.
Questions regarding quarries in this locality were raised after the appointment of Jenishbek Toktorbaev as the mayor of the city of Osh. The mayor emphasized the negative consequences that roadside quarries have on the environmental situation and soil.
Last year, it was proposed to relocate the quarries located along the Osh–Nookat highway to other areas, as well as to carry out greening and organization of the territory. There were reports of plans to revoke licenses for a number of quarries and close them.
Additionally, the construction of irrigation channels along the road was discussed, which should direct water into the main canal, as there is a risk of mudflows in this area during the spring period. Work on this project, initiated by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, is still ongoing.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the LLC "Oshstroyservice" was re-registered on May 8, 2015. The founder of the company is Borbueva Aizhan Kalibekovna, and the director is Azhimamatov Zhanibek Akparalievich. The main activity of the company is building construction.
