In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev announced the adoption of a new decision regarding the clearing of streets from ice. In the future, sand will no longer be used for these purposes, as reported by the "Kabar" agency.

According to the mayor, this change is aimed at improving the environmental situation and maintaining cleanliness in the city, as mixing sand with snow leads to additional pollution.

“We are abandoning the use of sand to avoid polluting the city. As an alternative for combating ice, only salt will now be used,” emphasized Junushaliev.

It is worth noting that earlier, in response to criticism from residents on social media regarding the unsatisfactory snow removal after a recent snowfall, the mayor also mentioned that there are specific methods for clearing the roads.
