At the meeting of the visiting group of deputies from the Jogorku Kenesh representing the "Mekenchil" and "Ata Jurt" parties, held on January 16, deputy Burun Amanova raised the issue of the possible relocation of the Bishkek CHPP.

In response to this inquiry, the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, reported on the recent commissioning of new boilers in the city. This decision is part of a strategy for decentralizing the heating system aimed at reducing dependence on the CHPP.

“We are moving towards the decentralization of the CHPP heating system. The city administration has selected eight locations for the installation of boilers. If the experiment proves successful, we will have the opportunity in the future to completely disconnect the CHPP from the heating system,” noted Junushaliev.

Deputy Amanova also inquired about the timeline for expecting results from these initiatives. The mayor responded that the outcomes of the implementation would be assessed within 2–3 years. According to him, this could lead to abandoning the modernization of underground heating networks and the need to use CHPP resources for heating.
