He reminded that he had previously discussed this problem with the Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev, who promised to find a solution; however, the situation continues to worsen.
“Yes, we understand that prices depend on global trade quotes. Nevertheless, farmers are currently selling beans at such low prices that it doesn't even cover their production costs,” noted Jumabekov.
According to him, such conditions threaten not only the harvest of the current season but also the future of bean cultivation in the Talas region, which is the main producing area for this crop in Kyrgyzstan.
The deputy emphasized that government bodies should take measures to support farmers, including assistance programs, product processing, and the search for new sales markets.
