At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on January 14, deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva raised a serious issue regarding the lack of equipment for sterilizing medical instruments at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health located in the Jal microdistrict of Bishkek.

She reported that the center operates a steam sterilizer that was manufactured in 1996. This medical autoclave frequently breaks down and is unable to handle the necessary load.

According to the deputy, the institution needs to carry out more than 100 sterilization procedures every day, but due to the faulty equipment, instruments have to be sent for sterilization to Maternity Hospital No. 6 by ambulance and then returned.

Sadyrbaeva noted that this approach contradicts sanitary norms and creates a risk of cross-infection, as sterilization is carried out in various medical institutions, including departments with purulent infections.

In light of the above, the deputy called for urgent measures to provide the National Center for Maternal and Child Health with a new autoclave.
