Marlen Mamataliyev, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, believes that the administrative-territorial reform has not met expectations. At a meeting on January 14, he reminded about the incorporation of several settlements into the capital.

According to him, the changes were limited to renaming, and life in these areas has not changed. He also noted that the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, announced the allocation of 6 billion soms for the development of these territories in 2026, and expressed hope for the effective use of these funds. "The capital must look like a capital. The outskirts should correspond to the center. Compare the Pervomaisky district: the center and the outskirts are completely different! Districts such as 'Kalyis-Ordo', 'Muras-Ordo', 'Umut', 'Dostuk', 'Ak-Bosogo' still remain residential areas when they should be micro-districts. However, this is not only a matter of renaming but also a need for infrastructure: sewage, roads, sidewalks, water supply. These problems have not yet been resolved. One cannot speak of life in the city," he emphasized.

The deputy also added that this year, the construction of 20 schools and ten kindergartens is planned in Bishkek.

"I urge to start with the remote residential areas. Even Kyzyl-Asker has long been part of the city, but problems there also remain unresolved," he concluded.
