In the Kyrgyz Republic, a unified information system has been developed for the transparency of water resource use

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic announced the development of an automated information system "Unified Information System for Water" (AIS UISW), which is part of the digitalization measures of the Water Resources Service.

This new system is designed for comprehensive management of water resources in the field of irrigation, aiming to enhance the efficiency of planning, accounting, and monitoring of water supply, as well as ensuring transparency in the use of water resources.

The AIS UISW integrates data on objects and subjects of the irrigation fund, water users, water management facilities, and irrigation systems in a unified digital space. The system allows not only for planning the supply of irrigation water but also for accounting and monitoring water consumption, analyzing quantitative and qualitative characteristics of water, and generating reports in accordance with established requirements.

The system includes geographic information technologies (GIS), which provide the management of spatial data related to surface water resources, irrigation systems, water management facilities, and irrigation areas considering agricultural crops.

The launch of the AIS "Unified Information System for Water" into industrial operation across the country is scheduled for early 2026. In the future, a phased modernization of the system is planned, expanding its functionality, automating government services, and implementing digital services for water users.
