The Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan has announced the completion of the development of an automated information system called the "Unified Information System for Water" (AIS UISW). This project is part of the efforts for the digital transformation of the agency.
The system was created with the aim of comprehensive management of irrigation water, including data on water users, irrigation networks, and hydraulic structures. The AIS UISW serves as a platform that automates water supply planning and ensures accurate monitoring of water consumption, as well as analyzing the quality of water resources.
The development of the AIS UISW was based on geoinformation technologies, which allowed for the management of spatial data on surface waters and irrigated areas with details on specific agricultural crops, as clarified by the agency.
The launch of the system across Kyrgyzstan is scheduled for early 2026. In the future, the developers plan to expand the platform's functionality by adding automated government services and specialized digital services intended for farmers and water users, as reported by the ministry.
