In Kyrgyzstan, farmers are being urged to unite into cooperatives for the effective implementation of crop rotation on small plots of land. This was announced on the radio by Turat Idirisov, head of the Department of Crop Production, Horticulture, and Cooperation of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

According to him, adhering to crop rotation on limited areas poses a significant challenge, which has already negatively affected the yields of certain crops. In particular, in the Talas region, farmers have been growing beans for several years without alternating crops, focusing solely on profit, which has led to a decrease in yield indicators.

The ministry suggests replacing beans and other technical crops with alternatives such as corn, barley, and wheat to restore soil fertility. To achieve this goal, farmers are recommended to unite into cooperatives, which will allow for crop rotation on larger areas.

Idirisov also noted that as part of state support for cooperation, priority access to land reserves of the State Property Fund (SPF) is provided. These lands are primarily leased to cooperatives, as well as seed and breeding farms.

Moreover, cooperatives can expect preferential financing conditions. Producer associations have the opportunity to obtain loans at 6% per annum through state banks for the purchase of machinery and equipment.

According to the ministry's data, 68 new agricultural cooperatives have been registered in the country this year. Next year, the creation of another 70-80 cooperatives is expected after their official registration with the Ministry of Justice, which will allow them to obtain loans and additional land plots.
