At a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, announced that kok-boru and kokpar will now be differentiated in the rules for conducting competitions. In particular, the kok-boru games will be organized according to Kyrgyz standards, while kokpar will be held under the rules of Kazakhstan, in order to consider the opinions of the neighboring country and avoid misunderstandings.
A total of 43 types of competitions are planned for the upcoming Games, and the organizers expect a record number of participants. Invitations have been sent to 100 countries, and the tournament regulations have already been approved. For comparison, there were only 17 sports at the first Games. The separation of equestrian disciplines, according to the organizers, should attract more spectators and promote the strengthening of international cooperation in preserving nomadic culture.
