The organizers emphasize the neutrality of the competitions and the preservation of traditional culture
In 2026, Kyrgyzstan will host the VI World Nomad Games, during which two traditional equestrian sports will be presented: Kyrgyz kok-boru and Kazakh kokpar. This was announced by Kazibek Moldazhiyev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports.
According to Moldazhiyev, the decision to include both sports was made to minimize potential misunderstandings and disagreements among participants. The organizers aim to create an inclusive and balanced program that reflects the richness of nomadic culture.
He also noted that the management of the World Nomad Games adheres to the principle of apoliticism in sports. The competitions should serve as a platform for cultural dialogue, mutual respect, and the preservation of traditions, rather than a subject of conflicts.
It is expected that the representation of both forms of this popular game will generate significant interest among both athletes and spectators, making this event one of the highlights of the Games.
