Central Asian countries unite efforts in the fight against cyber threats

Today, an International Conference dedicated to cybersecurity has started in Bishkek. The theme of the event is: “Organizational and legal processes, international and national standards, problems and threats, as well as their impact on the national security of Central Asian countries.”

Leading experts from various countries in the region have gathered at the conference. Among the key speakers was Kainar Yerbolat Yerzhanuly, PhD and professor, who holds the position of First Deputy Head of the Aktobe Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbaev.

According to the representative from Kazakhstan, who shared his thoughts with the Kabar agency, cooperation between neighboring states is of critical importance.

“This conference is very important. Kyrgyzstan is our strategic partner. We are united not only by common traditions but also by tasks related to ensuring security. In the face of modern cybersecurity threats that can undermine stability in our countries, the exchange of experience and knowledge with colleagues from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and other countries in the region is particularly relevant,” he noted.

One of the results of the joint work has been the strengthening of ties between educational institutions involved in training law enforcement personnel.

“I want to emphasize that our Ministry of Internal Affairs Institute has signed three memorandums of cooperation with leading universities in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. This will allow us to achieve the goals set within the framework of the overall security strategy more effectively,” added Kainar Yerbolat Yerzhanuly.

He expressed hope that further cooperation will yield results and create reliable protection against cybercrime in Central Asia.
