“Similar areas are also planned in other parts of the capital”
Today, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva shared information about the possible demolition of over 100 residential houses in the Lenin district of Bishkek due to planned road works.
Residents of the area expressed their concerns in a collective letter, warning about the risk of losing their homes due to the opening of Sheralieva Street. This project involves connecting sections from Akhunbaev to Gagarin with Termechikova Street and is already included in the new general plan of the capital.
In response to these concerns, the city hall emphasized that the implementation of this project is not planned in the near future.
“The opening of this section was foreseen in the general plans approved during the Soviet era, as well as in the Bishkek general plan for 2006-2025. Similar areas are also marked in other districts of the capital,” the municipality added.
As part of the new general plan, these plans remain as long-term prospects for the development of the city's road network. The city hall urged residents to remain calm and rely on official information sources from competent authorities.
