Deputy Dastan Bekeshev proposes to simplify entry conditions for citizens of Kazakhstan into Kyrgyzstan

During the session of the Jogorku Kenesh held on January 22, Bekeshev noted that he has received numerous complaints from citizens facing difficulties due to the cancellation of the "visa run" system. According to him, this situation is leading to family breakdowns.

“Many citizens of Kazakhstan are encountering problems when trying to enter Kyrgyzstan. With the adoption of the visa run law in 2024, the current situation is such that divorces are even occurring. For example, if the wife is a citizen of Kazakhstan and cannot enter Kyrgyzstan, while their joint child, born in Kazakhstan, is a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, serious problems arise. We need to reconsider this issue. This especially complicates life for students. I understand that similar rules apply in Kazakhstan, but I ask you to consider the possibility of simplification for our citizens. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be tasked with studying this situation. Families should not break apart because of borders, as one person is currently in Kazakhstan and the other is in Kyrgyzstan,” Bekeshev emphasized.

He appealed to the speaker to give a protocol instruction to the relevant committee to consider this issue.

Let us remind you that from September 1, 2025, new stay rules will come into effect in Kazakhstan for citizens of Kyrgyzstan, who will be able to stay in the country for no more than 90 days within a 180-day period. Otherwise, entry restrictions may arise. Similar measures for citizens of Kazakhstan will come into effect in Kyrgyzstan starting December 1, 2025.
