According to the proposals, a new item titled "People's Teacher of the Kyrgyz Republic" will be added to the existing list of state awards.
As noted by the author of the draft law, this title existed in the previous legislation adopted in 2001 but was omitted in the updated version of the law from 2017.
According to the data presented in the justification for the draft law, from 2001 to 2017, the honorary title "People's Teacher" was awarded to 25 individuals, of whom only seven remain today.
The deputy emphasized that public recognition and awarding of teachers for their work and achievements play an important role in enhancing the prestige of the teaching profession.
