In the justification for the draft law, it is stated that the current legislation has contributed to the inappropriate use of insignia characteristic of military personnel on the uniforms of officials performing civilian duties.
It is planned to abolish the following military ranks:
- "General of Justice" (for the Attorney General);
- "Lieutenant General of Justice" (for the First Deputy Attorney General);
- "Major General of Justice" (for Deputy Attorneys General and Prosecutors of Bishkek, as well as Batken, Jalal-Abad, Osh, and Chui regions).
Now the military rank of "Major General of Justice" will be assigned exclusively to the military prosecutor, while his deputies and other employees of the military prosecutor's office will receive lower ranks — Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel, Major, and Captain of Justice. Other prosecutors, including the Attorney General, will be able to apply for the title of Justice Advisor of various classes.
Previously, the SCNS also presented for discussion amendments to the Law "On the Establishment of Military Ranks, Class Ranks, Special Class Ranks, and Special Titles," which proposed to exclude provisions on military ranks for employees of the Tax and Customs Services.
