Among the proposals is the amendment of the resolution dated March 4, 2022, No. 111, which approves the social package of television channels in the Kyrgyz Republic. In particular, it is proposed to cancel the first point of the document and clarify that the formation of the package will be carried out by the Antimonopoly Regulation Service in cooperation with the authorized state body in the field of information.
The changes will also affect the government resolution dated June 23, 2014, No. 349, which regulates the procedure for forming the social package of television and/or radio channels. As part of the new draft, it is proposed to exclude mentions of sports channels, cancel the competition for the inclusion of private television and radio companies in the package, and grant the authorized body the right to include channels without conducting a competition.
In addition, a number of provisions regarding the deadlines and procedures for considering applications from broadcasting companies are also proposed to be declared invalid.
The aim of this project is to ensure citizens' access to information, and it has been posted for discussion in the established manner.
