Currently, a draft law concerning amendments to the existing Law "On the Establishment of Military Ranks, Class Ranks, Special Class Ranks, and Special Titles" is open for public discussion. The aim of the document is to modernize the process of awarding ranks in certain government agencies and to adapt the legislation to the contemporary requirements of public administration.

One of the main initiatives of the project is to clarify the list of agencies authorized to award special and class ranks. In particular, it is planned to replace the mention of "customs services and prosecution authorities" with a more precise formulation — "operational and investigative units of the customs authority." Additionally, it is proposed to exclude outdated provisions from the law.

The key changes will affect Article 10. The new version of the law will clearly outline the list of military ranks for employees of the Military Prosecutor's Office — from junior lieutenant of justice to major general of justice.

Furthermore, the changes will impact Articles 5 and 11, which pertain to prosecution authorities, and it is also planned to exclude outdated clauses from Article 12. Article 13 is expected to remove the ranks of major general and lieutenant general of the customs service.

The annex to the existing law will also be presented in an updated form.
