The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan issued decree No. 1156-t, which introduced changes to the procedure for fulfilling the country's international obligations regarding the collection of alimony.

The central authority responsible for implementing the Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance has been designated as the Enforcement Service under the General Prosecutor's Office.

This decree aims to fulfill the republic's international obligations and is carried out in accordance with the presidential decree issued on June 23, 2025, under number 187. The decree concerns the improvement of the enforcement system and the activities of enforcement officers in Kyrgyzstan.

The Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance was adopted in The Hague on November 23, 2007. This document complies with the requirements of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic and does not contradict international treaties that have entered into force in accordance with the country's legislation.

The main goal of the convention is to create an effective international mechanism for the collection of child support and other forms of family maintenance. This is achieved through the implementation of a universal system of interaction between the authorities of the participating states, which ensures accessibility for filing applications regarding alimony decisions, guarantees the recognition and enforcement of such decisions, and establishes effective measures for the prompt enforcement of alimony decisions.
