The meeting dedicated to the issues of training pedagogical personnel and their qualifications took place at the Ministry of Education.

Participants in the event included Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov, Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovations Gulzat Isamatova, as well as heads and representatives of higher educational institutions that train teachers.

During the meeting, key points regarding teacher training, qualification enhancement, and the organization of training events in accordance with the recently introduced state and subject standards were discussed. Issues of methodological and pedagogical support were also addressed.

Additionally, topics such as attracting international trainers and mentors, supporting students studying in pedagogical specialties, and preparing teachers proficient in English in the field of STEM were considered.

Edil Baisalov emphasized that teachers are the foundation of the education system and stressed that personnel training and their professional development should become the top priorities of state policy. He noted the necessity of coordinated work among all stakeholders in this area.

Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, for her part, added that universities training teachers should become leaders in the changes within the teacher training system.

It was previously reported that there is a shortage of 761 teachers in schools in Kyrgyzstan as of December 2025, according to the Ministry of Education. The most acute shortages are felt in the subjects of mathematics, music, Russian language and literature, physics, history, chemistry, and geography.
