Deputy Minister of Health Ryspek Sydygaliev reported that by 2025, 50% of the funds from the epidemiological fund remain unspent.
“These funds are planned to be directed towards activities scheduled for 2026, including potential support from the president. We are installing sensitive cameras at the borders, funds are coming in, and everything will be utilized,” he added.
This response caused dissatisfaction among the deputy.
“How can half of the allocated funds remain unused in the context of a challenging epidemiological situation? Children were lying in the corridors! Moreover, you excluded this item from the budget for the current year. Will there be no more epidemics? I insist on a written explanation for the removal of this item,” emphasized Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva, noting that the misuse of funds from the epidemiological fund is unacceptable.
Minister of Health Kanaybek Dosmambetov acknowledged that the situation was indeed difficult, especially regarding the provision of medications. “We received supplies at ‘Kyrgyzpharm’ but the medicines that were supposed to arrive in 2025 were only ordered at the end of the year. All needs will be met in the first quarter of 2026,” he explained.
