The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), led by Sanae Takahiti, achieved a decisive victory in the early parliamentary elections, winning 316 out of 465 seats in parliament. This is the best result for the party since its founding in 1955 and constitutes a constitutional majority in the lower house, opening up opportunities for implementing reforms.

Congratulations to Sanae Takahiti on the successful outcome of the elections came from U.S. President Donald Trump. He noted her "stunning victory" and expressed hope for the successful implementation of conservative policies, writing about it on his social media platform Truth Social.

It is worth recalling that Sanae Takahiti took office as Prime Minister in the fall of 2025 after a parliamentary vote, replacing Shigeru Ishibu, who resigned. Now, with support gained from the elections, she intends to focus on a more active defense policy and increase government spending and investments to stimulate economic growth, enhance tax revenues, and stabilize the budget.
