The document also highlights that geoparks differ from other categories of specially protected natural areas, as they integrate natural objects, landscapes, settlements, and cultural elements into a single geocomplex. Furthermore, attention is drawn to the "adjacent development area of the Geopark," which does not change its legal status but is part of the overall concept of sustainable development.
The authors of the resolution note that Kyrgyzstan has significant potential for creating internationally recognized geoparks, including the possibility of integration into the global network of UNESCO geoparks. Currently, there are no officially recognized sites of this status in the country, making the adoption of this procedure particularly important.
