Sadyr Japarov, the president of Kyrgyzstan, clarified his previous comment regarding the removal of Kamchybek Tashiev from the position of Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB). The president's press secretary, Askat Alagozov, stated that when Japarov spoke about preventing a split in society, he did not mean Tashiev himself.

The head of state added that certain individuals, such as Bekbolot Talgarbekov and Emilbek Uzakbaev, used Kamchybek Tashiev's name to push deputies and public figures toward various actions, including calls and appeals to switch to their side.

“They said: let’s sign this, switch to the general, thereby creating tension in society and among those holding responsible positions in government structures,” he noted.

The president added that his initial comment was distorted or misunderstood by some citizens.

Recently, there was a report that a collective letter was sent to President Japarov and Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, requesting early presidential elections. The document, signed by 75 individuals, including scholars and former prime ministers, contains a strong request for new elections.

Bekbolot Talgarbekov, one of the initiators of the appeal, told Azattyk that the current disputes over the president's term could lead to instability that other political forces might exploit. In this regard, he urged the authorities to take the initiative and announce elections for June or July.

Today, a decree was published on the early termination of Kamchybek Tashiev's powers as Deputy Prime Minister and head of the GKNB. Sadyr Japarov commented on this decision as a step toward strengthening unity in the state and preventing a split in society.
