The CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic may prematurely terminate the powers of deputy Eldar Sulaymanov

The topic of discussion is related to allegations of domestic violence

On February 17, members of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic will discuss the issue of depriving Eldar Sulaymanov of his deputy mandate, who represents the Jogorku Kenesh.

It should be noted that in January, the deputy's name became widely discussed in the media and social networks following statements from his ex-wife Asel Azamatova, in which she claimed there were multiple instances of domestic violence by Sulaymanov. The Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek confirmed that an investigation is currently underway regarding this matter.

Eldar Sulaymanov himself responded to the allegations, stating that they are one-sided and should be assessed in accordance with the law. Additionally, recordings from surveillance cameras have surfaced on social media, showing his ex-wife using force against the deputy.

It is important to add that in the VIII convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh, Eldar Sulaymanov was elected from the Aksy multi-mandate constituency No. 5, located in the Jalal-Abad region.
