According to Turdumambetov, he submitted all the necessary documents to the Central Election Commission and paid an electoral deposit of 300,000 soms, for which he has a confirming receipt, as he stated in a conversation with Kaktus.media.
After his registration, preparations for the election campaign in the Toktogul district began. However, on November 2, employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) stopped him in Kara-Balta and brought him to Bishkek, where, according to him, under pressure, he signed a statement refusing to participate in the elections "of his own free will." He also noted that he was not refunded the deposit. Turdumambetov added that after signing this document, he was prohibited from sharing any information, and he preferred to remain silent, waiting for possible provocations and pressure on himself and his campaigners.
The candidate filed an official complaint with both President Sadyr Japarov and the General Prosecutor's Office. He is now awaiting a review of the election results in his district and a re-vote. According to preliminary results, the following candidates won in district No. 14:
- Bolotbek Ibraimovich Borbieff.
- Kunduzbek Koshaliyevich Sulaymanov.
- Gulsharkan Okonovna Kultaeva.
The Central Election Commission confirmed to Kaktus.media that Turdumambetov indeed submitted a statement, which is his right. The members of the CEC do not have the authority to reject or coerce candidates into writing any statements; they only accept them. "When candidates submit a refusal or other document, members of the CEC and staff are always present," the agency added.
