The Central Election Commission, responsible for elections and referendums, has initiated a verification regarding the criminal record of the member of the Jogorku Kenesh, Bekmurza Ergeshov. Confirmation of this information was received from CEC member Abdyjapar Bekmatov.

He also reported that a request was sent to the information center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs a few days ago.

“At the moment, there is no response. Usually, the waiting period for such requests is 14 days. After receiving the information, we will make a decision,” Bekmatov added.

If the existence of a criminal record is confirmed for the deputy, there may be a question of revoking his mandate. It should be noted that candidates are required to provide a certificate of no criminal record to participate in elections.

In the parliamentary elections held in November 2025, Bekmurza Ergeshov was elected as a deputy from electoral district No. 6, which covers the city of Osh. Previously, another candidate from this district claimed that Ergeshov was convicted in 1998 for five years; however, the deputy himself has not yet made any comments on this matter.
