Altynbek Toktosunov, a candidate in the elections for the Jogorku Kenesh from district No. 6, accused the incumbent deputy Bekmurza Ergeshov of concealing information about his criminal record. According to him, in 1997, Ergeshov was accused of large-scale drug trafficking, and in 1998, he was sentenced to five years in prison. Toktosunov claims that part of this sentence was served by Ergeshov in a colony in Jalal-Abad. In this regard, the candidate decided to file a request for the deprivation of Ergeshov's deputy mandate and submitted the relevant documents to the Central Election Commission, the General Prosecutor's Office, and the presidential administration. "I provided a copy of the court decision, and the documents were accepted for consideration," he told Kaktus.media.

Kaktus.media also reached out to the Central Election Commission for a comment. Commission representatives confirmed that they had sent inquiries to the Supreme Court and the Main Department of Information Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Attempts to obtain a comment from Ergeshov were unsuccessful — he did not respond to calls or messages.
