On March 10, 2026, the Supreme Court made a decision to review the case of journalist Mahabat Tajibek kyzy. On March 23, the Lenin District Court changed her preventive measure to a written undertaking not to leave, which allowed the journalist to be released from pre-trial detention while the case is being reviewed. The editorial team of Kaktus.media decided to draw attention to other activists whose cases are similar to Mahabat's and also require review.

Accusation of Extremism The case against the project aTemirov Live, "Ait ait dese," and Kloop.kg was initiated in October 2025 based on a complaint from the prosecutor's office. On October 27, the Oktyabrsky District Court granted the prosecutor's request, recognizing the mentioned publications as extremist. As a result, the activities of the media projects Temirov Live, Kloop.kg (NGO "Kloop Media"), and "Ait ait dese" were banned.

Currently, Bolot Temirov is outside the country.

The Case of Aika Beishekeeva and Azamat Ishembekov

Azamat Ishembekov submitted a petition for clemency and was granted clemency, while Aika Beishekeeva continues to serve her probation period.

Criminal Cases Against Kloop.kg

Several criminal cases have been initiated against the editorial team, known for its social and political investigations, concerning both the editorial team itself and its employees.

Liquidation of Kloop MediaIn August 2023, the prosecutor of Bishkek filed a lawsuit for the liquidation of the Kloop Media foundation, claiming that the media activities were not specified in its charter. According to the law, if an organization conducts activities that do not correspond to its statutory goals, it can be liquidated. As a result, internet providers began blocking access to the Kloop.kg website. Attempts to challenge this decision in court were unsuccessful.

Accusation of Extremism The case to recognize Kloop.kg and other projects as extremist was initiated in October 2025. On October 27, the Oktyabrsky District Court granted the prosecutor's request, and the activities of Kloop.kg (NGO "Kloop Media") and the projects Temirov Live and "Ait ait dese" were banned. The editorial team attempted to challenge this decision, but the Supreme Court upheld it.

At the same time, the authorities of Kyrgyzstan appealed to Interpol for a Red Notice for Rinat Tukhvatshin, co-founder of Kloop, but Interpol denied this request.

Detention of Kloop EmployeesOn May 28, 2025, the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) detained seven individuals associated with Kloop, including journalists and former employees.

In response to these events, the authorities stated:

“Everything must comply with the law. A review is only possible at the request of an interested party or in the presence of new circumstances. The law does not allow for the review of all cases,” noted Deputy Attorney General Umutkan Konkubaeva.

The GKNB also emphasized that according to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the review of judicial decisions is only possible in the established manner, and any proposals to create commissions for the review of criminal cases contradict constitutional principles, as interference in investigative and judicial activities is prohibited.
