Emmanuel Macron: "The USA wants to weaken and subjugate Europe"

In his speech, Macron drew attention to the growing conflicts and instability in the world, pointing to a record number of wars, which he claimed exceed 60 in 2024. "We are moving towards a lawless world where conflict has become the norm," he noted, adding that "imperial ambitions are becoming relevant again," and the law of the strongest now dominates.

The French president emphasized France and Europe's commitment to the principles of territorial sovereignty and independence, highlighting the importance of these ideals as lessons learned from World War II. At the center of his criticism was the economic policy of the United States. "The trade agreements imposed by the Americans aim to weaken and subjugate Europe. The use of tariffs as a tool to pressure sovereignty is absolutely unacceptable," Macron stated.

In conclusion of his speech, he called on European leaders to take active measures, expressing concern over the excessive naivety of the European Union. "Europeans today are too naive: we alone do not protect our markets and companies, while other countries do not adhere to equal competitive conditions," he summarized, adding that Europe has all the necessary mechanisms to protect its interests.
