The purpose of the raid was to identify cases of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition. As a result of the operation, two citizens voluntarily handed over 2 units of firearms to the police.
The Department of Internal Affairs also reminded that illegal acquisition, sale, storage, carrying, or transportation of firearms, as well as ammunition, explosives, and explosive devices, is subject to criminal liability.
However, citizens who voluntarily surrender firearms are exempt from criminal liability and may expect a monetary reward.
