According to information from the department, drivers of "Toyota 4Runner," "Hyundai Grandeur," and "Hyundai Avante" were performing dangerous maneuvers on key streets of the city, including driving into oncoming traffic and installing unauthorized equipment on their vehicles. Several administrative protocols were drawn up against them, and the vehicles were impounded.
After videos of the violations became available on social media, traffic inspectors quickly identified the offenders and took action. In particular, they were issued protocols under articles 189, 194, and 188 of the Code of Offenses, with a total fine amounting to 85,000 soms. They were also informed that repeated auto hooliganism could lead to a suspension of driving rights for up to 6 months.
According to the current Code of Offenses, driving into oncoming traffic while overtaking or violating maneuvering rules results in a fine for individuals amounting to 150 calculation indicators.
Article 189. Auto Hooliganism
1. Auto hooliganism is defined as intentional actions by a driver that demonstrate disrespect for society and are accompanied by violations of traffic rules and vehicle operation (for example, street racing or exhibition driving in inappropriate places), which grossly disrupt public order and the peace of citizens. Such actions are subject to a fine of 150 calculation indicators.
Article 194. Driving a Vehicle Without Approval from the Authorized Body
Paragraph 1. Driving a vehicle that has been modified without the necessary approval or has unauthorized additional equipment results in a fine of 55 calculation indicators for individuals and 170 calculation indicators for legal entities.
