As noted by Kurmanbekov, in 2025, the prosecutor's office and law enforcement agencies in the region initiated 86 criminal cases related to corruption and official crimes, which is double the figures of 2024. As a result, the total number of cases under investigation reached 112 (compared to 72 last year).
It was established by the investigation that 50 (34) cases were sent to court, while proceedings for 40 (24) cases were terminated.
The total amount of material damage caused to the state in these cases amounted to 488,850,605 (52,222,921) soms. Of this amount, it was possible to recover 465,206,900 (51,957,461) soms, which represents an impressive 95.1% of the total damage.
Kurmanbekov also reported that in 2025, both the volume of damage caused and the amount of compensation significantly increased. In particular, the amount of recovered funds increased by 413,249,439 soms. This, in his opinion, indicates the successful actions of law enforcement agencies and the strengthening of the anti-corruption fight. The program for protecting state interests and compensating damages to the budget continues according to the established schedule.
He emphasized that in accordance with the law "On Counteracting Corruption," the prosecutor's office leads coordination meetings on combating corruption and oversees the implementation of legislation by all law enforcement agencies. These activities are carried out in accordance with the directives of the Attorney General and the regional prosecutor.
According to Kurmanbekov, the main tasks of the prosecutor's office are to prevent corrupt actions, timely identify them, and ensure accountability for those responsible within the framework of the law. Special attention is paid to cases of abuse of official position and illegal use of budgetary funds.
"Accurate determination of material damage and effective measures for its recovery remain a priority. During the investigation, emphasis is placed on establishing the scale of damage, seizing the property of suspects, filing civil claims, and ensuring the enforcement of court decisions. All individuals guilty of corruption will undoubtedly be held accountable, and strict measures will be applied to them. The prosecutor's office will continue its active fight against corruption crimes and protect the interests of the state and society," added the senior prosecutor of the Talas region.
