Urmatai A., a resident of Kyzyl-Kiya in the Batken region, expressed dissatisfaction with the court's decision in a domestic violence case. She accuses her husband B.Y. of regular beatings that have led to serious injuries.

The incident that prompted Urmatai to contact law enforcement occurred on January 12, 2026. The woman reports that her husband harmed her, resulting in a ruptured eardrum, and expelled her from their home along with the children.

“In 2024, he broke my jaw, but at that time I decided to forgive him. In December 2025, he beat me again, and I couldn’t leave the house for a week. Now he has damaged my ear. The court assigned him only 48 hours of community service. I do not agree with such a sentence and appealed it to the regional court, but the decision remained the same. Currently, the process is dragging on, and my husband continues to work as if nothing happened,” Urmatai said.

The press service of the Batken region's Internal Affairs Department confirmed that Urmatai contacted the Kyzyl-Kiya City Police Department on January 13, 2026. The incident was registered as a case of domestic violence, and a protection order was issued to the woman.

After the investigation, law enforcement concluded that there were no grounds for initiating a criminal case. However, signs of an administrative offense were identified. A protocol was drawn up against the 33-year-old husband Y.B. under Article 70 (“Domestic Violence”) of the Code of Offenses, and the case materials were sent to court.

The Kyzyl-Kiya City Court assigned the man 48 hours of community service.

The police noted that the family is on preventive registration and is under the supervision of the relevant services. According to the department, the conditions of the previously issued protection order have not been violated.
