The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Kyrgyzstan has initiated a criminal case related to corrupt actions involving the State Joint Stock Company "Kyrgyzneftegaz," according to information provided by the ministry's press service.

Recently, the State Tax Service under the Cabinet of Ministers presented video materials of an investigation titled "Oil for Themselves: How Kyrgyzneftegaz Was Ruined," which contains serious accusations against the company's officials.

According to available information, employees of the State Joint Stock Company "Kyrgyzneftegaz" abused their official powers and, in collusion with other companies, created illegal schemes for the sale and distribution of fuel and lubricants.

According to the MIA, during the inspection, it was established that these officials, recognizing the importance of the company as a strategic asset in state ownership, acted contrary to their duties to ensure its effective functioning in the interests of the state and society.

"In the context of rising fuel prices in the country, instead of taking measures to improve the situation, they entered into a preliminary conspiracy with unidentified representatives of state bodies that oversee this sector. This led to the creation of conditions favorable for the activities of certain affiliated companies, allowing them to extract illegal profits, including through tax evasion and other mandatory payments," the MIA's statement noted.

In connection with these circumstances, the Investigative Service of the MIA has initiated a criminal case under Article 336 ("Corruption") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

"Currently, all necessary investigative actions are being conducted with the involvement of specialists from the State Tax Service, aimed at a comprehensive and objective examination of the case, as well as identifying those responsible and holding them accountable," the MIA added.
