Even in the harshest frosts, he breaks the ice on Lake Dolon, where the ice thickness reaches 15–20 cm, and swims underneath it. This amazes the local residents.
U. Tölömüshov has always been interested in extreme activities and acts according to his choice.
“My ancestors are from the village of Dolon in the Tyup district. I grew up in the city of Karakol and graduated from secondary school No. 5 named after Narimanov. In 2015, I entered an agricultural technical college in Bishkek and received a profession as an ichthyologist in fish farming. However, I did not work in this field. As the demands of the time changed, I began working in the automotive maintenance sector. Overall, I love extreme situations. Until I was 18, my parents forbade me from such activities. After I became a student and started living independently, I began taking cold showers for 15–20 seconds every day in the summer, and this habit continued into winter. For me, it has benefits: it improves circulation, increases endurance, prevents colds, and strengthens the immune system. Earlier this year, due to a break in work, I went to Dolon and swam twice,” he shared.

He added that it has become a habit to swim in Lake Issyk-Kul and in flowing water in nature during winter.
“I have been swimming in cold water since 2018. My parents and relatives worry about my health, thinking that I might catch a cold. But, thank God, that has not happened to me. When swimming in Issyk-Kul, there can be wind or cold outside, and while you get dressed, you look for a towel to dry off. But when I swam in Lake Dolon, there was shelter around, and I didn’t even think about freezing.
In childhood, if I had a sore throat, my parents would give me medicine. Now, if such a situation arises, I just drink cold water. Recently, I posted a video on social media of me swimming, and it surprised many, although for me, it’s a normal habit.
In my free time, of course, I try to dedicate it to my family. Before this, we managed to visit the Czech Republic, UAE, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan,” Ulan shared.
