Marat Iliyasov, a resident of the village of Ala-Bash, shares his experience of labor migration, which lasted a full 10 years. In a conversation with a Turmush correspondent, he talked about the challenges he faced and how he returned to his homeland.

“I am from a mountainous area and was born in the village of Ala-Bash. After the work in the village ended, I went to Russia to earn money. Migration was a tough trial, and at times I had to deal with a severe lack of funds,” he recalls.

When Marat returned, he decided to use his savings to engage in animal husbandry. He thought, “Is it really impossible to earn on my native land?” He built a barn and bought livestock, starting to fatten them up. Now, according to him, life is getting better, and the main thing is that he is close to his family on his own land. This small venture gave him the confidence that it is possible to develop a business in the village.

He now has about 50 head of cattle. He feeds them on time, and after fattening, he sells them at the market, constantly increasing the herd. The difficulties experienced during migration became a springboard for starting this business. Marat adds that they have already learned to effectively fatten and sell cattle, and the income is pleasing. Plans include creating a large facility for fattening cattle and opening new jobs in the village.

“Our village is located in the upper valley of the Ton district, and the local residents mainly engage in animal husbandry,” he concludes.
