The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has urged Ukrainian athletes to refrain from organizing protests against Russian athletes at the Olympic Games, which will take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. This was reported by Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladislav Geraskevich.

“We received a message from the IOC regarding the Olympic Games, in which we were advised not to hold any actions on their territory. They contacted the Ukrainian side to discuss possible protest actions,” the athlete noted.

The IOC also reminded that according to the Olympic Charter, any demonstrations during the Games are strictly prohibited.

It is worth noting that in January, representatives of the junior Ukrainian skeleton team already held a protest action at the European Cup stage, which took place in Innsbruck, Austria, expressing dissatisfaction with the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the Olympic Games.

The XXV Winter Olympic Games will be held in Italy from February 6 to 22, 2026, and the Winter Paralympic Games from March 6 to 15. A total of 2,871 athletes from 93 countries will participate in these competitions, and 116 sets of medals will be contested in 16 disciplines.
