As reported by the Cycling Federation of Kyrgyzstan, the athletes were denied visas.
“The organizers did not provide personal invitations, which are necessary for obtaining a sports visa. Therefore, the participants had to apply for tourist and transit visas, but unfortunately, they were also rejected. We submitted the documents twice, but unfortunately, we could not achieve a positive result,” the federation representatives stated.
Igor Filin and Evgeny Russo were supposed to compete in the "Masters" category at these games.
It is worth noting that Igor Filin recently became the champion of Asia among veterans, winning the title in Saudi Arabia.
To date, Kyrgyzstan has already won four medals at the World Games in the UAE: one gold, two silver, and one bronze.
It is noteworthy that in December 2025, the Kyrgyzstan boxing team also faced issues obtaining visas to participate in the World Championship in the UAE, but government intervention helped resolve the situation.
