According to information from MiddleAsianNews, Mongolian cyclists continue to earn medals at the Asian Road Cycling Championships.

At the current Asian Road Cycling Championships in Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia, athletes from Mongolia continue to show excellent results. At the start of the competition, international master Temuulen Khadbaatar brought the team its first medal, winning silver in the 24.6 km individual race among juniors under 23 years old with a time of 30 minutes 22.88 seconds. This was a significant achievement for Mongolia at this championship.


In the men's veterans category aged 55–59, international master Shinebayar Dangaasuren won gold in the 20 km race, performing the Mongolian anthem on the podium, while Tumendemberel Surenkhorloo earned a bronze medal. Silver went to Visut Kasiyapath from Thailand.

In the age group of 65–69 years among men, gold was also won by Ankhbayar Gurdorj. Silver and bronze medals were awarded to Zainul Kasymdzhanov from Kazakhstan and Rinat Batyrshin from Tajikistan, respectively.

Enkh-Od Darjaa finished in 4th place in the 60–64 age category.


Erdenetuyaa Dorjchimed

In the women's time trial over a distance of 15.8 km, Erdenetuyaa Dorjchimed took third place in the 45–49 age category, earning a bronze medal. The gold medal was won by Olga Zabelinskaya from Uzbekistan, while silver went to Zainab Rizvan from Pakistan.


With this result, Shinebayar is now a two-time Asian champion, and Ankhbayar has added his eighth medal at the Asian Championships to his collection—all gold. Tumendemberel now has three Asian Championship medals, while Erdenetuyaa has become a two-time medalist.

Mongolia is represented by 23 athletes competing in seven age categories at the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships. The competition is scheduled to conclude on February 13.
