During the meeting of the relevant committee on January 19, Deputy Umbetaly Kydyraliev from the Jogorku Kenesh proposed to reconsider the amounts of scholarships for athletes.

He pointed out that the current maximum scholarship amount is 60,000 soms, which he believes is insufficient given the rising prices and inflation. The deputy emphasized that athletes, especially those striving for high achievements on the international stage, need adequate financial support. He called on the State Agency for Sports, the Ministry of Finance, and the government to jointly consider the possibility of increasing these payments.

The Director of the State Agency for Sports, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, agreed on the necessity of raising scholarships, taking inflation into account, but noted that this issue requires detailed analysis. He added that work is planned to review the payments, including changes for winners of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Furthermore, Moldazhiyev noted that payments for winners of the Deaflympics had not been discussed previously, and the State Agency is currently developing a corresponding draft law.
