Kassym-Jomart Tokaev emphasized that the situation in the region is complex, and the main issue lies in territorial aspects. Kazakhstan advocates for resolving the conflict exclusively through diplomatic means. “We are convinced that peace can only be achieved through dialogue between the conflicting parties. Our country does not seek to become a mediator, but is always open to assistance and ready to offer a neutral platform for negotiations if such an opportunity arises,” the president stated.
Additionally, Tokaev expressed his opinion on the establishment of a Council for Peace.
“This is a timely initiative aimed at achieving quick and effective results. President Trump emphasized during the signing ceremony that the Council for Peace should complement the efforts of the United Nations, which is currently facing institutional difficulties. It is important to note that this initiative will contribute to the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which underscores the need to establish peace based on international legitimacy and effective leadership,” noted the president of Kazakhstan.
He expressed confidence that the Council for Peace is capable of significantly influencing the strengthening of global stability and peace by offering flexible and practical mechanisms for conflict resolution.
