
As reported by MiddleAsianNews, a meeting took place in London between the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia, Damdinnyam Gongor, and the Minister of Industry of the United Kingdom, Chris Macdonald.
During this meeting, it was decided to create a working group that will unite the ministries of both countries to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024 regarding cooperation in the mining industry.

Additionally, the parties agreed to explore opportunities for cooperation in areas such as financing geological research in Mongolia, information exchange, and personnel training.
Furthermore, the minister met with parliamentarians to discuss cooperation in the field of mineral resources in the UK
Damdinnyam Gongor also held a meeting with the chair of the UK-Mongolia parliamentary group, James Wild, the deputy chair, Baroness Northover, and other members of parliament.

During the meeting, ways to further develop cooperation in the field of mineral resources were discussed, as well as support for investments and technology exchange with an emphasis on sustainable development.
The parties noted opportunities for joint work in the exploration, extraction, and processing of strategically important resources, emphasizing compliance with environmental standards and social responsibility.
Minister Damdinnyam also presented the policy of the Mongolian government in the field of industry and mineral resources. Ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and gain parliamentary support for major mining projects were discussed.
