IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has instructed preparations for active offensive and defensive actions. "IDF units were prepared for such developments as part of standard combat training for Operation 'Roaring Lion.' Several rockets fired from Lebanon crossed the Israeli border and fell in open areas. According to the IDF, the sirens did not activate.
The Hezbollah group confirmed the launch of rockets and drones from Lebanon towards Israel.
According to their claims, the actions were taken in response to the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam made a statement on platform X, warning against the unacceptability of launching rockets from southern Lebanon.
"Regardless of which side is behind this, launching rockets from southern Lebanon is an irresponsible and suspicious act that threatens Lebanon's security and gives Israel a reason to continue its attacks," he stated.
