The Prime Minister emphasized that Greenland must be prepared for various scenarios, adding that the island is part of NATO, and any escalation of conflict could have global consequences.
Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark.
Donald Trump has expressed his claims to Greenland several times, citing U.S. national interests. The island's authorities, in turn, have stated that they do not wish to become part of the United States.
The White House has floated the idea of purchasing Greenland but has also not ruled out the possibility of using force.
Additionally, Trump announced plans to impose tariffs on European countries that do not support American claims to the island.
