Timchenko emphasized that it is necessary to cease fire in the energy sector and protect energy assets. According to him, residents of the country have access to electricity for only 3-4 hours, followed by a pause of 10-15 hours, and many apartment buildings remain without heating for several weeks.
The CEO of DTEK also reported that the company has lost 60-70% of its generating capacity and incurred losses in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Restoring the energy sector will require investments of 65-70 billion dollars and, in most cases, will be associated with the need to create new assets.
According to Timchenko, this is not just about the simple reconstruction of the existing energy system, but about the necessity of creating an entirely new structure for Ukraine.
