During the presentation of the new head of the state enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacy," Bolot Junusov, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanibek Dosmambetov, emphasized the need for a radical revision of approaches to the procurement of medicines and medical equipment. The Minister stressed that the new team should establish direct connections only with reliable manufacturers, excluding purchases through intermediaries. He also noted that it is very important to avoid cooperation with so-called "one-day firms," which disappear after fulfilling contracts, leaving healthcare institutions without the necessary service support and guarantees.
In addition, Dosmambetov emphasized that purchases should be made from well-known global manufacturers capable of guaranteeing long-term operation of equipment for 15 years or more. He also highlighted the importance of transitioning to procurement based on international non-proprietary names, which will help avoid commercial manipulations and the imposition of specific brands.
“Every tender should be aimed at meeting the real needs of the healthcare system, not the interests of certain companies,” the minister noted. As part of the ongoing reforms, there are also plans to create a centralized service unit for the technical maintenance of medical equipment, as well as to introduce positions for medical engineers in hospitals across the country.
