At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Minister of Health Ryspek Sydygaliev reported on the situation with respiratory diseases in the country. According to him, cases of pneumonia and bronchial asthma are being recorded among both children and adults.

He noted that while the situation cannot be called critical, official statistics confirm the presence of such diseases.

From 2014 to 2024, the incidence rate has decreased by 29.5%, but the problem still remains relevant. Furthermore, during the same period, the mortality rate has increased by 42.6%.

In response to a question from a deputy about a possible connection between these indicators and smog, the deputy minister emphasized that it cannot be definitively stated that smog is the cause of the diseases, as many factors affect health.

Nevertheless, he pointed out that most diseases are non-communicable and may be related to environmental conditions. As prospective measures, he noted the development of gasification and an increase in the use of electric vehicles in Bishkek, which could positively impact public health.
