Deputy Kamila Talieva expressed the opinion that the situation in the field of oncology can be characterized as "in a coma" during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to her, the topic being discussed is not limited to environmental aspects, as it affects the health and lives of citizens.

“In 2015, 5,000 people died from cancer, and if trends continue, this number will reach 6,000 by 2025. If no action is taken, the number of cases will only increase. Do we have preventive measures? In the field of oncology, medicine is effectively in a state of 'coma.' I have hope for the new Minister of Health,” she emphasized.

First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiev agreed that such problems do indeed exist, but they did not arise in just one year. He noted that the government is working systematically to address these issues.

“We are asking ourselves an important question about what life will be like for people in 2030 and 2050. First and foremost, it is necessary to improve the quality of education and pay more attention to the well-being of citizens. Funding for oncology is being allocated, and work is also underway in the field of nuclear medicine. The first center for nuclear medicine will be established in Central Asia,” he added.

The deputy also noted that every time there is a change in ministers, hopes are placed on improving the situation. “Nevertheless, over the past five years, medicine should have reached a new level,” she concluded.
